St.Mary’s School in Cambridge was renovating a building for their boarding students, and needed a reliable, high-speed internet system to be installed throughout the building to ensure their students could study without disruption from slow internet speeds or wi-fi outages.
THE CHALLENGES
– The age of the building being renovated
– Install was to be completed at the same time as other construction works
– Standard copper cables would not run far enough
THE SOLUTION
FWD-IP designed a specific POL (Passive Optical LAN) system using single mode fibre to ensure the fastest internet speeds would be provided throughout the building at all times. The system was designed to be space saving, removing the requirement for additional servers, and was much more energy efficient than traditional network systems.
